The discs were compressed onto a plastic wrapper that cause the discs to warp and thus stayed in the wrapped position. This didn't affect the quality of the abrasive but it is much easier to install the disc on the plate if they are flat. I have purchased others from other manufacturers that are sold and shipped in boxes so the the abrasive pad was flat and it stayed in that position. Much easier to store and install. I would much prefer to see them sold in boxes.
