    Finally, a fine grit sanding belt without the dreaded ‘belt’ bump when used on platens and hard contact wheels. Don’t let the aggressive looking material fool you. Our compact grain aluminum oxide VSM sanding belts are designed specifically for fine finishing of metal, providing a more even scratch pattern and uniform finish. Compact grain belts promise 3-5 times the lifespan of conventional abrasives, characterized by larger clusters of stacked grains that deliver superior cutting efficiency and heightened material removal rates in contrast to traditional abrasive products. The heavy-duty Y-weight backing can handle spritzing but is not fully waterproof. The belts can be attached to a knife belt sander, benchstand grinder, portable belt sander, or backstand belt grinder.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: These belts must be ‘broken-in’ before use! Take a scrape piece of metal and very lightly and uniformly press into the belt while running. This only requires a few full revolutions to ensure a consistent and uniform surface. Periodically break in belt during use to maintain a uniform cutting surface.
