What Applications Do These Belts Work Well For?
Our industrial quality sanding belts are perfect for non ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, titanium, nickel) and ferrous metals (steel, stainless steel, pig iron, alloys, hardened steel, etc.). The sandpaper belts are also great for dense and hard woods. Use the sandpaper belts for stock removal, grinding of welds, shaping, cutting, sharpening, honing and blending metals.

Why Would You Use A Flex Backing?
As the name suggests, flex backings are light and flexible. They are used when slack grinding (no platen or contact wheel) to give curved surfaces a uniform finish. Slack grinding is especially useful for convex curves (curves that extend outward like a football).

Great abrasives, will be coming back again and again.
We own a nonprofit that supports veterans and suicide prevention. Part of what we do is hold blacksmithing instruction / events. During these events we typically have 10-15 veterans and family members working in our shop. We have two 2 x 72 grinders and use your belts. I’ve been making blades for a few years now and I recently purchased my 2x72 grinder and have tried several different belts some out preforming the other and some company’s were absolutely a nightmare to order from for different reasons ( very expensive shipping & time of delivery) but Red Label has won me over ! The progression through the belts on this blade was seamless with much less heat and dramatically less belt wobbling!!! And even tho the customer asked for the knife not to have a slick finish the 240 grit did more than I expected and he was very pleased with the finish. I recently upgraded to a 2x72 grinder and before it even arrived I made sure I had some red label ceramic belts ready to put on. They last much longer than other belts I have used and cut very fast. They also seem to reduce heat buildup.

Red Label Abrasives are the only 2 x 72 belts I use. They have every belt grinding/sanding/conditioning option a knife maker could ask for. This Battle Ax was a conversion made from a fireman hand ax using Red Label Ceramic Sanding belts.
My first experience with Red Label abrasives was with the 2"x72" fine grit ceramic belts ,and they are awesome! I just bought the zirconia coarse belts and they are phenomenal! I went with the zirconia to save a little money over the ceramic belts and also because I don't think my grinding style takes full advantage of the ceramic belts anyway.
I purchased your belt from Amazon and love them. They last longer than others I have used. Here's a knife I made that now finds it home on a Tuna fishing boat off the NJ shore.

Hot off the grinder! I grind post heat treat, so I need an aggressive, long lasting ceramic belt. The J weight ceramics are game changers, saving so much time with really nice results.

After retirement I took up forging Damascus knife blades as a hobby. Once I tried ceramic belts I will not go back to cheap Aluminum Oxide belts for metal working.
