Our industrial grade silicon carbide belts are the perfect choice for fine finishing with lighter pressure. Silicon carbide is extremely sharp and friable, making it ideal for heat sensitive applications but not as long lasting as other abrasive materials. Its unique characteristics make silicon carbide a great choice for paint removal, sanding between coats, knife scale finishing, lapidary, or any application requiring consistent scratch patterns. Wet or dry applications. Hand built in the USA.

By the time a belt clears Canada Customs, and considering the $ exchange rate, one belt costs me about the equivalent of sharpening 2 chef's knives. But with one belt I can sharpen 60 knives. Can you see the $$ signs? :) Question: Can Red Label make custom-sized belts? 4.75 x 36 ? 1000 grit silicon carbide? Thanks Dean deanmcleod@mymts.net

They do a great job finishing the blade. They don't last like ceramic edge core belts, but they don't do too bad if you stay on top of them with your belt eraser.
The web site didn’t add my military discount. Not to worried about it, but it may be an issue on the site. MSgt Henderson, USAF, Ret. Love the sanding belts, it saves me a ton of time and helps me get a better starting finish before going to the hand sanders. The used up belts have served me well also with fine sanding / grinding on my hand plane blades. Gust a little water and off to honing my blades.
Bought these belts to help clean metal to a higher finish ,didn’t work as I had hoped .
I bought these 4”x 36” silicon carbide belts thinking they would be good for cleanup and polishing some metal for a batch of knives that I was making . They didn’t work out as I wanted . Poor choice on my part . I ended up using my 2”x72” sander with several different grades of gator belts , with much better results .

This is the first product I’ve used from you guys and without a doubt the best belt abrasive I have ever used. The speed with the belt of course is known but using the thousand grit made my project unbelievable. This was the best finish I’ve ever put on a piece of furniture.
